Best Steaks in Bali: Wagyu, ribeye and tenderloin at its best

Finding a great steak in Bali can sometimes be a challenge. But you also don’t need to go to the super fancy or super expensive restaurant for a good steak. Although some of the restaurants and steakhouses mentioned in this article might fall under the expensive category, the steaks there are worth it.

In Indonesian culture, it’s a bit odd to have rare, or medium-cooked steaks. Most are known to do (overly) well due to the scare of red meat, bacteria, and getting sick. In another place when I asked a medium steak, I have gotten an overly well-done steak where all the juiciness just evaporated… that place did not make this list. They did not understand the concept of what medium means. I had to show pictures even. Yeah so those kinds of experiences can happen (in 2024) when you just walk into a random restaurant and think you are getting a pretty ok or decent steak.

Well, that’s why I am making this list of best steakhouses and restaurants offering steaks for you, so you don’t have to experience those ‘failures’. If you think I did not include the best steak in Bali, let me know and I will add it.

R&B Grill Prime (Jimbaran)

One of my favourites. When you enter it’s a supermarket with all kinds of imported produce. Very interesting and different than normal restaurants. They have a meat selection that would make your jaw drop. They supply to restaurants, hotels and I would not be surprised if they are one of the suppliers of the restaurants further listed down below.

Their steak selection is the biggest I’ve seen. After ordering the thickness or weight you want and type of cut, then explain how you want it prepared. They will do so exactly! Amongst steakhouses in Bali, this one is a gem. Very family friendly and the prices are very affordable!

I am including my receipt so you can see the difference between the most expensive steak and one of the cheaper ones. There is a huge difference in taste, juicyness, tenderness and all!
