Around the beach, there are luxury 5-star hotels. This is one of the reasons why Nusa Dua is known for. They look like palaces and feel very fancy. How to get to Nusa Dua Beach
The easiest way in (and also out) is by renting a scooter. Park at the designated area (look at the map I’ve included. From the parking you can walk to the beach. 2 Beaches are nearby and separated by very small islands attached to Nusa Dua. These are great to explore, but more on that later.

Entering Nusa Dua
Due to it being a luxury place, there is a checkpoint upon entering. You will have to explain where and what you are going to do. This is normal, everyone is being stopped.
After passing the checkpoint you will need to follow the road. The whole atmosphere changes. That’s because you are in a luxury 5-star hotel/resort neighborhood. TIP: Nusa Dua is an excellent area to stay for your honeymoon in Bali!
After a few minutes you will encounter a ticket booth that gives you a parking ticket. The parking fee will be IDR 5000 (about € 0.35) for motorbikes, I can imagine that would be more expensive for cars. This can only be paid for in cash later on when you exit.
When you see The Bay Bali it means you are very close. This place is great for eating on the beach as well.
From the picture, you can already see the cars being parked. Drive a bit further and you can park the motorbikes. From here it’s a 1 minute walk to the beach. This is also the place where you can change clothes and take a shower. The water shuts off at 6pm so be there before that when you want to shower.
Handy Information about this beach
First, understanding the tides is key. The best time for swimming is during high tide. The water is calmer and safer. Check the local tide schedule to plan your swim times.
Now, about snorkeling. It’s not ideal right at Nusa Dua Beach. For great snorkeling spots, check out my other article on snorkeling around Bali.
Head to the eastern part of Nusa Dua Beach. It’s less crowded and offers stunning views. Great for relaxing and taking photos. Early morning or late afternoon are the best times for pictures. The light is just right.
Now, what to pack for the beach? Sunscreen is a must. The sun can be strong. Bring a hat and sunglasses too. Don’t forget a water bottle to stay hydrated. If you plan to lounge, a beach towel or mat is handy. And, of course, bring your camera or phone for photos.

For you those in for a meal or snack you can choose to eat on the beach or in the warung which is very close nearby. You can pick out the local food from Bali, and some western choices like burgers & fries on the beach. TIP: Young and Fresh Coconut at IDR 40,000 can be bought at the Warung. Stay hydrated and get that vacay feel!
Pura Nusa Dharma Nusa Dua
A smaller “island” attached to Nusa Dua Is Nusa Dharma. This place is where local instagrammers go for making the nice pictures with Frangipani Flowers, tree’s and some blossom field. There is sometimes a line to take such pictures. Even if you are not hunting for likes online, this place is excellent to just walk and enjoy some of the green scenery.
The Peninsula Island
The waterblow is nearby, and the statue of Shreekrishna and Arjuna. besides that you can picknick (but don’t leave a mess please!) and enjoy the walking paths.
This statue is not just any ordinary sculpture. It’s based on a famous story from the Indian epic, the Mahabharata. In this story, Lord Krishna is the charioteer and advisor to the warrior Arjuna. The statue captures a crucial moment from the Bhagavad Gita, a part of the epic. This is where Krishna imparts wisdom to Arjuna, who is confused about fighting in the battle. The beach, very shallow and is great for children to play. It’s very family-friendly, no vendors and the waves are very gentle to not existing. I think because of a reef further where the waves break it’s easy and calm.

Next, you should visit Pura Geger Temple. It’s close to Geger Beach. This temple is a special place. It shows you a bit of Bali’s culture and history. The temple is peaceful. You’ll feel a sense of calm there. It’s a good place to think and take in the beauty.
